The article deals with the question of the realization in the Polish context the idea of "environmental school" and "the school placed in the environment". The author opts for the other concept as the real strategy of building a good school, looking for its identity, referring to the cultura! and historical heritage of local environment, based on the local relations network in which local environment participates.
